Dynamic Dance

Welcome to our studio. Whether you’re here to sample the art of dance or have dreams of Broadway you are welcome at our studio. We realize that dance is multi-faceted and it has a different lure for everyone. No matter what called you to dance you can be assured your life will change for the better each day that you dance.

Dancing gives you a chance to experience and understand both personal and social perspectives in a stimulating situation. Dancing offers opportunities to express thoughts and feelings and to understand other’s thoughts and feelings.

The dynamic balance of dance’s physical, mental and emotional aspects is something that we take seriously. We realize that teaching dance is so much more than which way to move to which count.

Our dancer’s emotional well being is important to us so we-

Treat each dancer with respect and dignity. We are always pleased at how far a little respect goes. All of our dancers treat us as we treat them and we are very grateful for this.

Our dancers mental health is important to us so we-

Encourage our dancers to set goals for themselves, push themselves to think creatively and try new things.

Our dancer’s physical development is important to us so we-

Teach our dancers that they must reach higher every day in order to shine physically. We teach new skills and respect our dancers for practicing them until they master them. Mastering new skills isn’t always easy but doing it is how we grow!

Frequently Asked Questions

Dance Place F.A.Q.’s

What are your classes for toddlers / preschoolers like?

Our Movement, Little Feet and Kinderdance classes are movement oriented. Dancers in these classes will learn basic dance positions and steps through creative dance exercises and games. We use a wide variety of props to reinforce the movement concepts that we are exploring. There is also an emphasis on gross motor skills. Our new movement class is a parent / child class designed for younger children (under 3) who wish to take a dance class but do not feel comfortable taking a class without their parent. In this class, the parent or caregiver may participate, or simply sit off to the side and observe.

What is the tuition?

Dance Place’s tuition is $30.00 every four weeks for one class per week ($7.50 per class). We offer a discount for any additional classes taken, or for siblings. A second class, or a first class for a second child is $24.00 per month making the total monthly payment $54.00 for two classes, or two children taking one class each.

Do you have a dress code?

Our dress code is as follows: Dancers must be in proper dance attire, Leotard and tights ( tights are optional for younger dancers) with the appropriate dance shoes, and with hair pulled back for all classes. We do not require any particular colors for leotards or tights. Dance shoes : pink ballet slippers, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes, dance sneakers ( for Funky Jazz) and tan sandal soles (for Lyrical Jazz) may be purchased / ordered through Dance Place at any time. We carry Revolution dance shoes. These are very good quality dance shoes at affordable prices.

How do your sessions run?

Our program is run on a school year schedule. Our classes begin in September and continue through May. At the end of May / beginning of June we have a dance performance at a local high school. Dancers are not required to participate in the recital, but it is a fun experience and performance is an important part of dance training. Dancers who do participate in the performance need to purchase a costume. Costume prices range from approximately $28—$35.00. We make every effort to keep costume prices as reasonable as possible.

*If you have any other questions feel free to call or e-mail. Dance Place also offers fun programs for our students, such as an annual Halloween party, a Nutcracker outing, our annual Nutcracker.. All Jazz’d Up, competitions, birthday parties, and DANCEcamps.

We hope you will join us for our exciting 9th year here at DANCE PLACE!!!!!

Four Fab Tips

1. Study anatomy. Check out books from the library, surf the web or take an anatomy class at school. The more you know about how your body works the easier it is to work it.

2. Take care of your feet. It doesn’t hurt to pamper your feet, soak them, massage them anything that feels good. If you get a cut, take care of it right away. Clean it and bandage it.

3. Think about what you eat. Learn as much as you can about good nutrition. Remember if you put garbage in your body you’ll get garbage out of your body.

4. Learn more than one dance style. Don’t lock yourself into one dance style. Each style offers you a unique way to express yourself.
